| Obverse description | Central field features a highly detailed circular medallion bearing the Bhutanese royal emblem, depicting two intricately engraved dragons in high relief arranged symmetrically around a central Dharma Wheel (dharmachakra), set upon a stylised lotus base with elaborate cloud and floral scrollwork filling the surrounding field. The composition is rendered in the traditional Bhutanese artistic style known as zorig chusum. The legend KINGDOM OF BHUTAN arcs along the upper periphery in spaced Latin capitals. Below the central design, the Dzongkha inscription འབྲུག་ཡུལ། — meaning 'Land of the Thunder Dragon' — appears in the lower field. |
