背面描述 A finely modelled left-facing bust of the Greek author Penelope Delta (1874–1941) occupies the majority of the reverse field, rendered in high relief with her hair worn up in a characteristic late-19th-century style and a pearl necklace at her neck. The engraver's initials appear at the lower left of the bust. The circular legend along the upper periphery reads 150 ΧΡΟΝΙΑ ΑΠΟ ΤΗ ΓΕΝΝΗΣΗ ΤΗΣ ΠΗΝΕΛΟΠΗΣ ΔΕΛΤΑ, commemorating the 150th anniversary of the author's birth. The date 2024, preceded by a mint flower ornament, is inscribed to the right of the portrait in the field.

附加信息

Penelope Delta (1874–1941) was among the most influential Greek authors of the early twentieth century, best known for children's historical novels that shaped how generations of Greeks understood their own national past. She took her life on April 27, 1941, the day German forces entered Athens — a detail that has made her death inseparable from the broader memory of the Occupation.

Greece has issued a small series of collector gold pieces honoring cultural figures; this 2024 entry continues that pattern. The .917 fineness places it in the standard 22-karat range used across most European commemorative gold issues.
