Obverse description Allegorical high-relief composition after Augustin Dupré's original Comitia Americana medal, depicting the effigy of General Daniel Morgan at center, about to be crowned with a laurel wreath by a personification of America rendered as a Native American queen clad in a short cuirass and feather headdress, symbolizing the liberty of the New World. The legend DANIELI MORGAN DUCI EXERCITUS arcs around the upper field, identifying Morgan as commander of the army, with the engraver's name DUPRÉ inscribed in the lower field. The republican monogram RF and the date 2024 have been added to the field in accordance with modern French coinage requirements.
