| Description du revers | The reverse features a detailed depiction of a Portuguese caravel under full sail, rendered in fine relief on the right side of the field, its masts, rigging, and hull faithfully rendered in the style of late 15th-century vessels. To the left, a stylized outline map of the Labrador region of northeastern North America is shown, with a heraldic eagle or coat-of-arms device visible upon it, and a small mounted figure appearing at the upper portion of the landmass. The curved legend TERRA DO LAVRADOR arcs along the upper and left rim, while the dates 1491 and 1500, separated by raised dots, are inscribed along the lower rim, commemorating the period of Portuguese exploration of the region. |
