| 正面描述 | Bare-headed right-facing effigy of King Charles III, as engraved by Dan Thorne, occupies the central field, set against a radially engraved sunburst pattern of fine lines and arched segments that fills the inner disc. The portrait is rendered in high relief with precise facial and sartorial detail. The circumferential legend reads 'CHARLES III' to the upper left and 'AUSTRALIA' to the upper right, with the denomination '200 DOLLARS' inscribed along the lower arc, all separated by raised dot stops. The engraver's initials 'DT' appear discreetly in the lower right field near the portrait truncation. |

The "Great Southern Land" series continues Perth Mint's long-running practice of issuing high-denomination gold pieces aimed squarely at the bullion collector and gift market rather than circulation — no example of this $200 face value denomination has ever been spent at face. The two-ounce .9999 fine specification places it within a format Perth has used since the 1980s to compete directly with the Royal Canadian Mint's Maple Leaf program.
Charles III's first portrait, sculpted by King's official effigy designer Jody Clark, appeared on Australian coinage from 2023 onward following the death of Elizabeth II in September 2022.
