| 背面描述 | The reverse commemorates the 60th Anniversary of Algerian Independence, featuring the official logo of the occasion prominently in the central field. To the right, stylized figures of soldiers are depicted, while symbols representing the various army corps appear to the left. The surrounding legend includes the dual Hijri and Gregorian dates of independence (1962 / 1443) alongside the commemorative year (2022), with the numeral '60' denoting the anniversary, all rendered in Arabic and Latin scripts. |

Algeria's 200-dinar bimetallic denomination was introduced in 2012 to mark the country's 50th anniversary of independence from France, ending 132 years of colonial rule — one of the longest in modern history. The denomination itself was new to Algerian coinage at that point, filling a gap between existing circulating pieces as the dinar's purchasing power continued to erode.
The 2022 date places this within the 60th anniversary year of independence.
