Issued to mark Josip Broz Tito's 85th birthday, this coin arrived at a moment when Yugoslavia's federal structure was already under quiet strain — Tito had spent much of the mid-1970s engineering the 1974 constitution, a document deliberately designed to prevent any single republic from dominating after his death.
