| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a stylized profile portrait of a dog's head facing right, rendered in bold incuse lines against a polished field, evoking the Chinese lunar zodiac tradition. To the left of the portrait appears the Chinese character 狗 (dog). The legend YEAR OF THE DOG is inscribed in two lines to the right of the central motif, flanked above and below by small star ornaments with the year 2018. The inscription 1/50 OZ .999 FINE GOLD arcs along the upper border, while the denomination 200 DALASIS is engraved along the lower border. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
The Gambia has issued lunar series coins since the 1990s, marketing them primarily to collectors in Asia and through international distributors — the coins have no meaningful domestic circulation given that 0.566 g of gold represents a denomination wildly disconnected from ordinary Gambian commerce. The rectangular format places this piece in the credit-card-shaped bullion and collector segment that gained traction in the 2000s, with several small sovereign issuers adopting it to differentiate their lunar offerings.
