| Reversbeschreibung | The central field features a stylized architectural composition depicting the Poznan International Fair tower and exhibition pavilion, rendered in a modernist graphic style with clean lines and geometric forms. To the left, a globe bearing a cross-hatched grid pattern symbolizes the fair's international character. The founding year 1921 appears above the globe, and the commemorative year 1991 is inscribed below, with the word PRÓBA (trial/proof) beneath it, identifying this as a pattern strike. The engraver's monogram is visible in the lower right of the central design. The circular legend 70 LAT MIĘDZYNARODOWYCH TARGÓW POZNAŃSKICH runs along the upper and lower periphery of the coin. |

The Poznań International Fair, founded in 1921, was one of the few Central European trade exhibitions that survived both the Nazi occupation and the subsequent communist period — though in heavily managed form. By 1991, the fair's 70th anniversary coincided with Poland's first years of genuine post-communist economic opening, giving the commemorative unusual political resonance without anyone needing to say so explicitly.
Trial strikes in nickel for this type were produced at Mennica Polska as pre-production approval pieces, never released for circulation. The issued coin appeared in silver.
