| Aversbeschreibung | The obverse features a stylized depiction of stratified flint rock formations rendered in high relief across the right portion of the field, conveying the geological character of the Krzemionki Opatowskie prehistoric flint mining site. To the left, set against a contrasting matte black field, is the Polish state eagle — a crowned white eagle displayed — accompanied by the date 2012 above. The denomination 20 ZŁ appears to the lower right in the field, while the legend RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA is inscribed along the lower arc of the coin in bold capital letters. The mint mark MW appears beneath the eagle. The design integrates sculptural relief with polished and frosted surface finishes in classic proof style. |

| Reversbeschreibung | The reverse depicts a dramatic high-relief representation of the ancient flint mine shafts and underground galleries at Krzemionki Opatowskie, with jagged rock faces and subterranean cavern walls filling the upper and right portions of the field. In the lower left, an outline relief of a prehistoric antler pick — the primary tool used by Neolithic miners — is shown resting against the rocky floor. At the center of the composition is an inset circular cabochon of authentic striped flint, the distinctive banded siliceous stone extracted at this UNESCO World Heritage site, set into the coin as a naturalistic specimen. The inscription KRZEMIONKI OPATOWSKIE curves along the lower right arc of the coin in incuse letters. The design exemplifies the Mint of Poland's hallmark integration of natural materials into collector coinage. |
