In the central field, an engraved facsimile of a Polish postal cancellation stamp bears the date -1 IX 39 08 and the inscription POLSKI URZĄD - T - GDAŃSK 1, evoking the historic postmark of 1 September 1939. The architectural façade of the post office with the inscription POLSKI URZĄD POCZTOWO-TELEGRAFICZNY appears in the background.
