Aanvullende informatie

Kenya's bimetallic shilling coinage of this period exists in two physically distinct versions — magnetic and non-magnetic — differentiated by the composition of the outer ring. The non-magnetic variant, catalogued as KM#36.1, used a copper-nickel ring rather than the steel alternative introduced to cut production costs. Both circulated concurrently, a situation that created no practical confusion for the public but has since made complete type sets a minor challenge to assemble.
