Descrizione del dritto	Central field features the Somali national arms, depicting a shield bearing a five-pointed star flanked by two leopards as supporters, with crossed palm fronds below. The date is split to either side of the arms, '20' at left and '21' at right. The legend 'SOMALI REPUBLIC' arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination '20 SHILLINGS' is inscribed along the lower rim. The coin is struck with a beaded border encircling the entire design.

Descrizione del rovescio	A highly detailed portrait of an adult African elephant (Loxodonta africana) fills the central field, rendered in close-up view with its massive head, prominent tusks, and wrinkled hide depicted in fine relief.
