The mule designation compounds the interest: this piece pairs that non-numeral obverse with a reverse not originally intended for it, making it a production pairing that should not exist by any intentional design decision.
Brunei's coinage from this stretch was produced under contract at the Singapore Mint following independence from British monetary arrangements in 1967.
