| Obverse description | The nickel brass centre features the Lion Capital of Ashoka, the national emblem of India, depicted in raised relief atop its circular abacus bearing the Dharma Chakra (wheel). Three lions are visible facing outward, rendered in fine detail, with the fourth implied behind. The Devanagari state motto 'सत्यमेव जयते' (Satyameva Jayate, meaning 'Truth Alone Triumphs') is inscribed in the field below the capital within the inner disc. The legends 'भारत' in Devanagari script and 'INDIA' in Latin script are placed on the outer nickel silver ring to the left and right respectively. |
