| 表面の説明 | The obverse of this oval silver coin features a draped bust of the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin set within an ornate arched frame with elaborate foliate and lyre motifs on either side, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The Belarusian state coat of arms is positioned at the apex of the arch. The curved legend РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ arcs around the left and upper portions of the design. In the lower field, the denomination 20 РУБЛЁЎ appears prominently, flanked by the fineness mark Ag 925 to the left and the date 2009 to the right. |

Part of Belarus's long-running folklore and fairy tale series, this piece draws on Pushkin's 1833 verse tale "The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish," itself adapted from a story collected by the Brothers Grimm. The rectangular format — unusual enough in silver issues of this weight class — was a deliberate choice by the National Bank to accommodate narrative scene work across a wider striking surface. Belarus issued numerous shaped and oversized pieces throughout the 2000s as the collector market for novelty formats expanded aggressively in Eastern Europe.
