Beschrijving voorzijde Central field features a large eight-pointed star rendered in traditional Belarusian folk-embroidery style, with each ray decorated with intricate geometric and cross-stitch patterns; four diamond-shaped ornamental motifs occupy the spaces between the rays. The state coat of arms of the Republic of Belarus is positioned at the top center above the star. The Cyrillic legend РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ arcs along the upper rim, while ДВАЦЦАЦЬ РУБЛЁЎ (Twenty Roubles) runs along the lower rim, with the date 2007 at the bottom and the silver fineness mark Ag 925 inscribed in the left field. The entire design is framed by a serrated triangular border pattern encircling the periphery.

Beschrijving keerzijde Central composition depicts a stack of traditional Slavic blini (pancakes) on a lace-edged plate, accompanied by a wooden ladle and a rolled pancake, all rendered in high relief against a recessed square field. At the top center, an inlaid amber-colored artificial crystal is set within a stylized sunflower motif, flanked by smaller snowflake-like rosettes, symbolizing the arrival of spring during the Maslenitsa festival. The lateral borders of the square field are decorated with traditional Belarusian folk embroidery patterns. The Cyrillic legend МАСЛЕНІЦА (Maslenitsa) is inscribed in bold relief along the lower portion of the field.

Aanvullende informatie

Maslenitsa — the Slavic pancake festival marking the end of winter — was suppressed under Soviet rule as an overtly religious and pre-Christian folk observance, making its appearance on Belarusian state coinage after independence a quiet act of cultural reclamation. Belarus issued several coins in this folk holidays series through the mid-2000s, each incorporating the oxidized silver and crystal inset combination that became a signature of the program. The artificial crystal element here references the ice and snow of the winter being ceremonially burned away.
