| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field displays the denomination within a wreath of laurel branches, encircled by the imperial legend. Superimposed upon this design is a circular countermark bearing the numeral '20' set against a horizontally lined background, applied by authority of the Brazilian Empire to revalue the host coin. The countermark is boldly struck and clearly delineated from the underlying original design. The overall composition reflects the revaluation coinage policy of the Pedro II era. |
