The composition is frontal and deeply sculptural, exploiting the mirror-like proof platinum surfaces to create a pronounced interplay of light across the textured fur and mane. At the lower centre, the South African coat of arms is contained within a small circular cartouche. Flanking the cartouche, the bilingual legend reads 'SOUTH AFRICA' and 'BIG FIVE' with the date '2022', together with the national motto 'ǃKE Eː ǀXARRA ǁKE' (Unity in Diversity). The engraver's initials 'PB' appear discreetly in the lower field. |
