正面描述	The note is printed in golden-brown on a white ground, with the bank's armorial vignette centrally positioned at the top, flanked by two diamond-shaped panels bearing the word TWENTY and the city name EDINBURGH to the right. Two circular medallions occupy the left vertical panel, the upper bearing an equestrian figure of St. George and the lower a foliate ornamental design, separated by a vertical guilloche border. The lower half carries the full promissory text in script and letterpress, with the denomination £20 repeated at lower left and right, two manuscript signature lines for the Governor and Treasurer, and the imprint of G. Waterston & Sons, Ld. at the foot.
