20 Pounds

The Government of Fiji's 20 Pounds was an extraordinarily high denomination for a colonial Pacific economy in 1934 — equivalent to roughly a year's wages for many Fijian workers. Notes of this value were never intended for everyday commerce; they functioned primarily as interbank instruments and settlement tools within the colonial financial administration. Bradbury Wilkinson printed the series at their New Malden works, where the majority of British colonial currency of this period originated.

Three separate hand-dated issue batches within a single year, all bearing the same three-signature combination of Wright, Craig, and Boyd, suggest controlled sequential releases rather than a continuous print run.
