A central arch vignette frames two winged figures flanking a circular medallion with a miner or allegorical figure reading a document, above which the word 'ILSE' appears on a tablet. Below the arch, within a cartouche with horizontal guilloche underprint, the issuer's name 'Ilse-Wohlfahrts-Gesellschaft m.b.H.' and place of issue 'Grube Ilse N.-L.' are inscribed in Gothic script, followed by a manuscript signature. The upper register bears the title 'Gutschein' in large Gothic lettering. |

The denomination '20' appears in a ruled circle at the top centre, with 'Pfennige' in a ribbon banner below. The issuer's name 'Ilse-Wohlfahrtsgesellschaft m.b.H.' and 'Grube Ilse N.-L.' are set in a central rectangular panel in bold Gothic script.
