Beschrijving voorzijde The silver-coloured central plug features the Mexican national coat of arms: an eagle perched on a nopal cactus, devouring a serpent, set above a wreath of oak and laurel branches rendered in fine relief. The golden outer ring, shaped as a dodecagon, bears the encircling legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS in raised Latin characters along the upper arc. Olive and oak branch motifs flank the lower portion of the outer ring, consistent with the standard design of the circulating 20 Pesos bimetallic series.

Aanvullende informatie

In 2019, Banco de México released a series of bimetallic pattern pieces exploring potential designs for future circulating coinage, with the Veracruz issue highlighting regional cultural heritage as part of a broader numismatic consultation process. Patterns of this type are struck in limited numbers for internal review and are never released for general circulation, which explains why surviving examples rarely surface through conventional channels.
