Obverse description The silver-coloured central plug features the Mexican national coat of arms: an eagle perched on a nopal cactus, devouring a serpent, set above a wreath of oak and laurel branches rendered in fine relief. The golden outer ring, shaped as a dodecagon, bears the encircling legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS in raised Latin characters along the upper arc. Olive and oak branch motifs flank the lower portion of the outer ring, consistent with the standard design of the circulating 20 Pesos bimetallic series.
