| 正面描述 | Central device features the ODECA coat of arms — a triangular device depicting five volcanoes rising above the sea, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The circular legend around the inner circle reads ORGANIZACION DE ESTADOS CENTROAMERICANOS, with a star at the base. The outer field carries the commemorative legend XX ANIVERSARIO DE LA ODECA and the anniversary dates 1951–1971 flanking the central device. The denomination 20 PESOS CENTROAMERICANOS appears in the lower field, with the date 1971 inscribed just below the inner circle at right. |

The Organisation of Central American States — ODECA — issued this piece as part of a short-lived series intended to symbolize regional integration among Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica. The political ambition behind these coins far outpaced the reality: ODECA never achieved meaningful economic union, and these gold issues saw essentially no circulation.
X# classification places it firmly outside regular national coinage — a pattern piece or commemorative struck in very small quantities, likely by a contracted foreign mint rather than any member state's own facility.
