| Obverse description | Typeset emergency issue printed in blue-violet ink on plain paper. The face carries the heading CIRCULATING PAPER BILL at top, with serial number 602 repeated at left and right, the date Sept. 22 1944, and the denomination numeral 20 with the word PESOS at each upper corner. The central text reads THE PROVINCE OF PALAWAN WILL PAY THE BEARER ON DEMAND / TWENTY PESOS, followed by the pledge in lawful currency of the Philippines, with three manuscript signatures across the lower portion accompanied by the printed titles J. of the Peace, Mun. Dist. Treas., and Member. |
