Descrizione del dritto	Printed in blue-violet on a light underprint, the obverse carries a central vignette of traditional Timorese thatched dwellings set amid tropical vegetation, flanked by the denomination numeral '20' at left and a circular guilloche medallion enclosing the Portuguese armillary sphere at right. Chinese characters appear above the central vignette and in the four corner cartouches, while the bank title 'BANCO NACIONAL ULTRAMARINO' runs across the top border. The date 'LISBOA, 16 de Novembro de 1945' and two manuscript signatures are printed in the lower portion alongside the decree reference.

Descrizione del rovescio	The reverse is printed in deep blue-violet with an elaborate guilloche framework covering the entire field, anchored by a central oval vignette of a steam-powered merchant vessel at sea, encircled by the legend 'BANCO NACIONAL ULTRAMARINO' above and 'COLONIAS. COMMERCIO. AGRICULTURA' below. The denomination '20' appears in ornate cartouches at the left and right, each accompanied by Chinese characters, while 'VINTE PATACAS' is set in bold letterpress across the lower centre. The top border carries the bilingual inscription 'BANCO NACIONAL ULTRAMARINO / PAGAVEL NA COLONIA DE TIMOR'.
