| Description du revers | Large denomination mark XX (twenty nummi) rendered in two bold upright characters occupying the central field, with a patriarchal cross above. A horizontal exergual line separates the denomination from the mint signature below, which reads CON followed by the officina letter, identifying the Constantinople mint. The reverse follows the standard Byzantine follis-series format established by Anastasius I, adapted here for the half-follis denomination. The struck surfaces show typical irregular flan characteristics of hammered Byzantine copper coinage. |
