| Obverse description | Two imperial figures standing facing in full length: Emperor Phocas on the left, holding a globus cruciger in his right hand, and Empress Leontia on the right, nimbate and holding a cruciform scepter. Both figures are rendered in the hieratic frontal style characteristic of early Byzantine coinage, with schematic drapery. A horizontal legend runs along the upper field, identifying the imperial pair. The design reflects the dynastic propaganda of Phocas's reign, presenting joint imperial authority. |

| Reverse description | Large denomination mark XX (twenty nummi) rendered in two bold upright characters occupying the central field, with a patriarchal cross above. A horizontal exergual line separates the denomination from the mint signature below, which reads CON followed by the officina letter, identifying the Constantinople mint. The reverse follows the standard Byzantine follis-series format established by Anastasius I, adapted here for the half-follis denomination. The struck surfaces show typical irregular flan characteristics of hammered Byzantine copper coinage. |
