| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing busts of Emperor Justin II and Empress Aelia Sophia, both crowned and draped in imperial regalia, positioned side by side at center. Justin II appears on the left wearing a crown surmounted by a cross, and Sophia on the right similarly attired, reflecting the joint imperial iconography characteristic of this reign. Between the two figures, a long cross on steps is visible in the lower field. The style is typical of mid-sixth-century Byzantine hammered coinage, with flat, schematic rendering of the imperial effigies. The surrounding Latin legend reads D N IVSTINVS P P AVG. |
