Reverse description The reverse features the large denomination mark K (representing 20 Nummi) prominently at center, flanked by the Theotokos monogram (θκϲ) above, denoting the invocation of the Mother of God, a distinctive feature of the Thessalonica mint issues under Justin II. To the left of the K appears the regnal year notation ANNO with the numeral, and to the right the mint signature TES for Thessalonica. Below the K, a regnal year indicator is present. The field is slightly rough and irregular, consistent with provincial hammered production of the period.
