| Reverse description | The historic Dolphin Fountain (Il-Funtana tad-Delfini) of Floriana is depicted in fine detail at the centre of the field, presented as a baroque architectural structure with a rounded arch flanked by pilasters, decorative urns with foliage on either side, and a sculpted figural group emerging from a basin at its base. An eagle surmounts the apex of the arch. The denomination £M 20 flanks the fountain centrally, with the word SPECIMEN inscribed to the right of the numeral. The Maltese legend IL-FUNTANA TAD-DELFINI curves along the upper periphery, and the date 1973 appears in the lower exergue. |
