Reverse description The reverse presents an elaborate allegorical composition in high relief depicting a standing nude male figure, representing the New Italy or the Italian people, extending his right arm in a commanding gesture toward a seated draped female figure personifying Italia. The seated figure holds a torch in her left hand and rests her right hand on a large shield bearing the Savoy coat of arms; beside the standing male figure is a fasces with an axe, symbolizing Fascist authority. The inscription ITALIA appears prominently in the upper field, flanked by A.V to the left and 1927 / R to the right, with PROVA DI STAMPA inscribed vertically at the upper right. The denomination L. 20 is inscribed along the lower field, with the engravers' signatures G. ROMAGNOLI / A. MOTTI INC. appearing in small letters above the denomination. The rim is finished with a bold beaded border.
