Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse presents an intricate composition of mathematical and scientific imagery set against a darkened antiqued field, framed by a beaded border. In the upper left, a right-angled triangle is inscribed with geometric labels (A, B, C, h, a), referencing trigonometric principles attributed to Al-Khwarezmi. At center, a Cartesian coordinate system displays a cosine wave with the equation f(x) = cos x to the right, while an armillary sphere appears in the upper right. A globe depicting the Eastern Hemisphere is positioned in the lower left, and the Turkish crescent-and-star symbol appears at lower center above the zero coordinate. The legend TÜRKIYE CUMHURIYETI / REPUBLIC OF TÜRKİYE arcs across the lower field, flanked by the date 2025 to the left and the denomination 20 Türk Lirası below.

Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse features a finely engraved bust of the 9th-century Islamic mathematician Muhammad ibn Musa Al-Khwarezmi facing left, wearing a turban and draped robe, rendered in high relief against an elaborate geometric Islamic lattice pattern that fills the entire field. To the right of the portrait, a flowchart diagram with rectangular and diamond-shaped decision nodes symbolises the algorithmic concepts pioneered by Al-Khwarezmi. The legend HAREZMI arcs along the upper border within a recessed cartouche, and AL-KHWARIZMI appears in a corresponding cartouche along the lower border, both in raised Latin lettering. The overall design is framed by a plain raised rim.
