Obverse description The tughra of the reigning sultan is positioned at upper centre within an oval cartouche, surrounded by an ornate border of scrollwork and arabesques in reddish-brown ink. The central text panel, rendered in Ottoman script, carries the denomination and state authority inscriptions within a decorative frame. Numeral denomination counters appear at each corner of the note.

Reverse description The reverse is largely plain with an applied circular wax or ink seal bearing Arabic calligraphy at centre, accompanied by handwritten Ottoman script annotations. A rectangular registration stamp of the Banque Impériale Ottomane, Constantinople, dated 1876, is affixed at lower centre, enclosing a serial number.
