| 背面描述 | The central field bears the Danish royal coat of arms, depicting three crowned lions passant guardant accompanied by nine hearts, contained within an oval shield surmounted by a royal crown, all rendered in fine relief by engraver Johan Alkjaer. Symmetrical baroque-inspired scrollwork ornaments flank the shield on either side, lending the composition an architectural elegance. The denomination 20 KRONER is inscribed in bold raised letters along the lower periphery, separated from the central device by an inner border ring. The overall reverse design is formally balanced and heraldically precise. |

Denmark's 20 krone coin was introduced in 1990 as part of a broader rationalisation of the Danish coinage system, replacing higher-denomination banknotes that had become impractical for everyday transactions. The second portrait of Margrethe II used on this type was sculpted by Arnold Machin's Danish contemporary, Mogens Møller, and represents a mature reworking of the queen's effigy following the earlier portrait introduced in the 1970s.
The aluminium bronze alloy was chosen specifically for its resistance to corrosion in Nordic climate conditions and its distinctive golden appearance, which helped the public distinguish the 20 krone from lower denominations at a glance.
