Maria Theresa's monetary reform of 1753 — the Konventionsfoot agreement struck with Bavaria — standardized coinage across much of the German-speaking world on a 10-gulden-per-Cologne-mark silver basis. The 20 Kreuzer was a direct product of that treaty, and Prague was one of several Bohemian mints pressed into service to meet the enormous demand the new system created. Bohemia's mining revenues gave the Habsburgs the silver supply to sustain it.
Prague mint output during this window was later scrutinized for consistency, with documented variation in die workmanship across the run.
