| Obverse description | Draped bust of Empress Maria Theresa facing left, her hair elaborately dressed and adorned, set within an ornamental laurel wreath that frames the central effigy. The peripheral Latin legend reads M. THERESIA. D. G. R. IMP. HU. BOH. REG., denoting her titles as Empress of the Romans and Queen of Hungary and Bohemia, running along the outer border of the coin between an inner wreath border and the milled edge. |

| Reverse description | A crowned double-headed Imperial eagle displayed in the centre, bearing on its breast a complex heraldic shield with the arms of the Habsburg dominions. Flanking the eagle are two branches of olive or laurel. The mint-master initials H·G appear below the eagle's body on either side, and the denomination numeral 20 is displayed in an oval cartouche at the base. The date appears in the upper portion of the peripheral legend, which reads AR. AU. DUX. BU. M. P. TRAN. CO. TYR., abbreviating the ruler's further titles as Archduchess of Austria, Duchess of Burgundy, Grand Princess of Transylvania, and Countess of Tyrol. |
