Obverse description Ornate oval quartered shield of arms surmounted by an episcopal mitre, with a crozier and a crescent visible above and to the right of the mitre. The quartered arms display the heraldic devices of the Bishopric of Sion and the Supersaxo family, including crowns, lions, and rows of triangles. The shield is set within a decorative cartouche with foliate scrollwork. The circular Latin legend surrounding the design reads F·I·S·SAXO·E·S·P·ET·COM·REIP·VAL, identifying Bishop Franz Joseph Supersaxo as Prince-Bishop and Count of the Republic of Valais.
