| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field bears the arms of Lucerne — per pale argent and azure — displayed within an ornately scrolled oval cartouche adorned with foliate and floral garlands. A cherub head (angelhead) appears at the base of the cartouche. The encircling Latin legend reads MONETA NOVA REIP . LUCERNENSIS . I T, the initials I T referring to the engraver Jean Thiébaud. The overall design reflects the decorative Baroque heraldic style prevalent in Swiss cantonal coinage of the mid-eighteenth century. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central device consists of a monogram formed by eight interlaced Ls arranged in a cruciform pattern, a distinctive emblem of the Republic of Lucerne, enclosing within its centre a circle bearing the denomination numeral 20. The entire central composition is framed by an octolobe (eight-lobed) border. The outer legend, divided by the date 1741, reads DOMINUS SPES POPULI SUI . 20 1741, combining the denomination and year within the reverse inscription. |
