| 表面の説明 | Printed in brown on cream paper, the obverse is enclosed within a decorative foliate border. The upper portion carries the issuer title in bold letterpress within a rectangular cartouche reading 'GUTSCHEIN DER GEMEINDE ST. GEORGEN AM YBBSFELD', flanked on the left by a winged allegorical figure atop a column and on the right by an armoured figure of Saint George beside a second column. A central pastoral vignette presents a panoramic townscape with a church steeple beneath a radiating sun, with a peasant and livestock in the foreground. The denomination '20 HELLER' appears in a guilloche roundel at the foot of the design, accompanied by facsimile manuscript signatures of municipal officials. |

Sankt Georgen am Ybbsfeld is a small rural municipality in Lower Austria, and this 20 Heller note belongs to the vast wave of Austrian Notgeld issued after the First World War when chronic coin shortages — driven first by wartime metal requisitioning, then by postwar monetary chaos — forced even minor parishes and market towns to print their own emergency fractional currency. Carl Queiser operated out of nearby Amstetten, the obvious choice for a community this size, and served as printer for a number of the surrounding district's Notgeld issues during this period.
