| 正面描述 | The obverse carries a central bird's-eye vignette of the Baumgartenberg monastery complex (inscribed 'MONS POMARIUS' within a cartouche above), flanked on either side by the municipal coat of arms — a vertically striped shield with lion supporter — and the numeral '20' in each upper corner. The legends 'GUTSCHEIN' and 'GEMEINDE' appear at upper left and right respectively, with 'Zwanzig Heller' and validity date 'Gültig bis 31. Dezember 1920' at lower left and right. The lower margin bears the issuing authority name 'BAUMGARTENBERG' in bold letterpress, accompanied by three manuscript signatures with official titles. |

| 备注 |
Baumgartenberg is a tiny Upper Austrian village whose Cistercian monastery had dominated local life since the twelfth century. Like hundreds of Austrian municipalities in 1920, it issued Notgeld to counter the acute small-coin shortage that followed the collapse of the Habsburg monetary system — a problem that plagued the new republic well into the early 1920s.
The print run figures attached to this note — 20,000 each for two consecutive series numbers — are unusually well-documented for a municipal issue of this scale.
