The denomination 20 FRANCS and the word ESSAI appear in the field, accompanied by the country name MAROC in Latin characters. Arabic legend السكة المحمدية الريفة is inscribed within the design. The Paris Mint differentials — a horn of plenty and a wing — are present as privy marks.
