The star and rosette are rendered in fine relief with intricate geometric and floral arabesques filling the interstices. A broad decorative border of intertwining Arabic script and foliate ornament surrounds the central motif. The Latin legend EMPIRE CHERIFIEN arcs along the upper rim, while additional Arabic inscriptions occupy the lower field and flanking areas of the border. |

The denomination 20 FRANCS and the word ESSAI appear in the field, accompanied by the country name MAROC in Latin characters. Arabic legend السكة المحمدية الريفة is inscribed within the design. The Paris Mint differentials — a horn of plenty and a wing — are present as privy marks. The overall composition is executed in a refined Art Deco-influenced style consistent with Monnaie de Paris essai productions of the period. |
