Reverse description Central motif consists of an eight-pointed star formed by two overlapping squares arranged in quincunx, surrounded by delicate arabesque scrollwork. The denomination 20 FRANCS and the word ESSAI appear in the field, accompanied by the country name MAROC in Latin characters. Arabic legend السكة المحمدية الريفة is inscribed within the design. The Paris Mint differentials — a horn of plenty and a wing — are present as privy marks. The overall composition is executed in a refined Art Deco-influenced style consistent with Monnaie de Paris essai productions of the period.
