| Beschrijving voorzijde | Left-facing draped bust of Prince Louis II of Monaco occupying the central field, rendered in high relief in the style of Pierre Turin. The Prince is depicted wearing a military uniform with decorative epaulettes and medals visible on the chest. The circumferential legend reads LOUIS II PRINCE DE MONACO, arcing around the upper portion of the coin, with the engraver's signature P. TURIN appearing at the lower right. The portrait is detailed and naturalistic, characteristic of Turin's inter-war medallic artistry. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The crowned coat of arms of Monaco is prominently displayed in the center of the field, consisting of a lozenge-patterned shield in the Grimaldi fusily argent and gules tradition, flanked by two armored knight supporters. The shield is surmounted by the princely crown, and the entire achievement rests upon a decorative mantle. Two large olive or laurel branches sweep outward from behind the arms, framing the lower portion of the design. The denomination 20 FRANCS appears in large numerals and lettering below the arms, with the word ESSAI inscribed vertically between the numeral and the laurel branch, and the date 1945 in the exergue. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner border. |
