The portrait is detailed and naturalistic, characteristic of Turin's inter-war medallic artistry. |

| Descripción del reverso | The crowned coat of arms of Monaco is prominently displayed in the center of the field, consisting of a lozenge-patterned shield in the Grimaldi fusily argent and gules tradition, flanked by two armored knight supporters. The shield is surmounted by the princely crown, and the entire achievement rests upon a decorative mantle. Two large olive or laurel branches sweep outward from behind the arms, framing the lower portion of the design. The denomination 20 FRANCS appears in large numerals and lettering below the arms, with the word ESSAI inscribed vertically between the numeral and the laurel branch, and the date 1945 in the exergue. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner border. |
