| Beschrijving voorzijde | Conjoined busts of Princess Joséphine-Charlotte and Hereditary Grand Duke Jean facing right, their effigies overlapping in high relief against a plain field. A decorative wreath border frames the entire design. The engravers' signatures GOERGEN and DE CLERCK appear in small lettering at the lower field beneath the busts. The surrounding legend identifies the subjects, reading PRINCESSE JOSEPHINE CHARLOTTE and JEAN GRAND DUC HERITIER. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Struck to commemorate the 1953 marriage of Crown Princess Charlotte's son, Prince Jean, to Princess Joséphine-Charlotte of Belgium, this is effectively Luxembourg's only gold commemorative issue of the postwar twentieth century. The mintage was extremely limited and the pieces were never intended for circulation — distribution was largely ceremonial, directed toward officials and dignitaries rather than the public market. The Delmonte classification reflects its status as an extraordinary issue outside the regular series.
