| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse reproduces the iconic design of the ancient Athenian tetradrachm, featuring a stylized owl standing facing, rendered in incuse relief to evoke the archaic coinage of Athens. An olive branch with berries appears to the upper left of the owl, a reference to the sacred olive tree of Athena. The Greek letters AOE are inscribed to the right of the owl, an abbreviation of AΘHNAION (of the Athenians), faithfully replicating the ancient prototype. The overall design is set within a shallow incuse square, imitating the quadratum incusum of classical Greek coinage. |
