Additional information

Issued to mark the centenary of Austria's Salzburg electric tramway network, one of the earliest urban electric rail systems in the German-speaking world. The Salzburg lines began electrification around 1909, when DC traction technology was still being standardized across European networks — a period when competing voltage systems made interoperability a genuine engineering problem rather than a bureaucratic one.
